Mark Giebel brings five years of coaching experience across volleyball, football, and soccer to FVP’s 12U Boys team. Although boys’ volleyball wasn’t available when he was growing up, Mark played recreationally and developed an appreciation for the sport while watching his two older sisters compete. He loves that boys in the Fox Valley now have the opportunity to play and is excited to be part of growing the game in the area.
Mark’s coaching philosophy centers on high energy, relentless effort, and a positive mindset. He encourages athletes to give 100% on every play, support their teammates, and build confidence regardless of the outcome. His go-to advice is simple: “Next play.” Learn from the mistake, shake it off, and put your energy into the next ball.
What Mark enjoys most about coaching is watching players build chemistry and trust, celebrate each other’s successes, and come together as a team. He’s especially looking forward to the energy of tournament days and seeing the team’s hard work and grit pay off throughout the season.
Outside of volleyball, Mark is a product designer for Manitowoc Ice and enjoys spending time with his wife, Toni, and their sons, Jack and Cayman, who are all involved with FVP. When he’s not in the gym, you might find him improving his cooking skills, restoring cast iron, or metal detecting. Mark would also love to play badminton, but has to stick with pickleball because his family is afraid to lose to him.
