bio
Kade Nelson joins the FVP coaching staff with the Boys 18 Justice National team, bringing experience as both a collegiate player and coach. An Appleton native, Kade played at Appleton North High School and spent four years with FVP before continuing his volleyball career at St. Norbert College, where he competed for another four years. Throughout his playing career, Kade primarily played middle blocker and right side.
Now entering his fourth year of coaching, Kade has coached with clubs throughout Wisconsin and currently coaches at Appleton North High School. His experience competing at the club and collegiate levels has shaped his approach to player development, with an emphasis on technical skills, consistency, preparation, and the details that make a difference in competition.
Kade especially enjoys watching athletes gain confidence, overcome challenges, and develop a genuine love for volleyball. His coaching philosophy centers on daily preparation, consistent execution, and attention to detail, believing that the small habits athletes build each day ultimately lead to bigger accomplishments.
His advice to players is simple: Don’t take today’s opportunities for granted. Make the most of every chance to compete, improve, and challenge yourself.
Kade is excited to help continue growing boys volleyball in the Fox Valley and prepare athletes to compete at the next level. This season, he looks forward to building a team that works hard, competes for one another, and strives to be among the best in the state.
Outside of volleyball, Kade enjoys playing board and card games with friends, watching TV and movies, and biking.
