bio

Jeff Frey brings 24 years of coaching experience and an accomplished high school volleyball career to FVP’s 16 National team. Originally from Wausau and now living in Luxemburg, Jeff was a two-sport collegiate athlete at Northland College, competing in hockey and baseball before building his career on the volleyball sidelines.

Jeff has spent 15 years as the Varsity Head Coach at Luxemburg-Casco, along with four years as an assistant coach, one year coaching JV2, and four years at the middle school level. He also has 10 years of girls club coaching experience. During his career, Jeff has led teams to three WIAA State Championships and two State Runner-Up finishes. His coaching honors include being named the 2021 AVCA Region 6 Coach of the Year and the 2021-22 NFHS Central Region Coach of the Year.

For Jeff, coaching goes well beyond wins and losses. He loves building relationships with his athletes and helping them become the best versions of themselves both on and off the court. His goal is to develop players who compete fearlessly and confidently while knowing their coach cares about them as people first.

His advice to every athlete is simple: “Grow every time you step on the court and be the best version of yourself.”

After spending his entire coaching career working with girls, Jeff is looking forward to a new challenge this season as he steps into boys volleyball. He is excited to join FVP, continue building on the club’s success, and contribute his experience to the boys program.

Outside of volleyball, Jeff enjoys golfing and spending time with his family. He and his wife, Sara, have been married for 22 years and have three children: Aubrey, Wilson, and Emmett.
