Alayna McCarville brings a lifelong love of volleyball and nearly a decade of coaching experience to FVP Girls 16 Regional. Originally from Mineral Point, Wisconsin, and now living in Black Creek, Alayna played three years of varsity volleyball at Mineral Point High School and four years of club volleyball with Southern Heat Volleyball Club. She continued playing through intramural leagues in college and still competes in grass and sand volleyball today.
Throughout her playing career, Alayna gained experience in a variety of positions, primarily as a setter before transitioning to libero her senior year of high school. She was named team captain as a senior and led her team in both aces and digs.
This will be Alayna’s fifth season coaching club volleyball. She has coached with FVP and also brings four years of high school coaching experience from Seymour and Kaukauna High Schools.
What Alayna enjoys most about coaching is building relationships with her players and watching their hard work translate into growth throughout the season. Her goal is to create a positive environment where athletes feel supported, challenged, and confident while developing strong fundamentals, teamwork, and skills that carry beyond the court.
Her advice to athletes is simple: focus on getting 1% better every day. Small improvements add up to significant growth over the course of a season.
Alayna is excited to continue learning alongside FVP’s experienced coaching staff and is especially looking forward to watching a new group of athletes come together, build relationships, and challenge themselves throughout the season.
Outside of volleyball, Alayna works as a Financial Analyst at Jewelers Mutual Group. She stays active with grass and sand volleyball, slow-pitch softball, golf, and working out, and also enjoys reading and going for walks. She lives with her boyfriend, Jorey, their daughter, Adley, and their Australian Mountain Doodle, Finn.
